Barton Springs Pool Sees Record Summer Attendance as City Adds Evening Hours

Barton Springs Pool, the beloved natural spring-fed swimming hole just steps from The Monroe, has reported record attendance this summer with over 180,000 visitors in May alone — up 22% from last year. In response, Austin Parks & Recreation has extended evening hours to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays through Labor Day, and added a new shaded seating area along the south bank.

The pool's three-acre surface stays a refreshing 68°F year-round, making it a community anchor during Austin's sweltering summer months. Residents can purchase a season pass at the main entrance for $85, which includes unlimited entry and priority access during peak hours.
